If your Pump is running, but it’s not pushing enough water, it’s probably something simple. Here’s what you should check first:
Pump won’t prime / filling up with air
Turn the pump off and check the black rubber O-ring on the basket lid. If it is dried out or cracked someone pool lube will extend its life a little, but it will need to be replaced soon.
If the O-ring is fine, it could be that the basket lid wasn’t tightened enough, or there could be something preventing it from getting a perfect seal. Clean the pump off where the lid goes on and putting it on tight and see if that fixes it.
If your pump is still pulling air, either the suction line is blocked or broken. It’s possible to fix if you’re pretty handy and have the tools, but at this point you’re better off calling a professional.
